London 2 Bournemouth Cycle

Too Tough For You?

Time for a bigger challenge...? Here it is.

Let’s be serious..anyone can cycle 50 miles, where’s the challenge in that?  Why do something that everyone can do?  160 cyclists rode the first L2B Cycle in 2009...most finished.  One fell off, one dropped out through exhaustion, one got 8 punctures, one smashed up his bike. One guy was so knackered that he stopped to have a Sunday pub lunch half way through.  The first finisher arrived in 6 hours, the last cyclist took 13 hours.

There is no cut-off time like most cycle events, why should we leave if you’re still cycling?  We’ll be waiting to give you your medal.
The 118 mile road course starts in Wimbledon, south-west London and finishes near the seafront in Bournemouth.  Taking you on undulating roads through the North Downs, and over the South Downs. We have decided to change the last 35 miles, to take in more of the New Forest, cutting across towards Ringwood and down to Christchurch.

The Cycle takes place on Sunday 12th September 2010 at 8am
We worked out that a cycle this long burns between 6000 - 7000 calories, so that’s how much we’re supplying over 4 feed-stations along the route, and at the finish.  Too much sweet stuff last time, more savoury this time.

Are you up to the challenge?  Don’t do this if you’re mentally weak.  One person looked like they were crying when they finished last time. But they did it...fair play to them.   If you want to be a hero, now's the time.

Start now, commit now. Sign up.
